Weather Effects

Yesterday night, as I was riding the bus back home, the light was very interesting. There was thick cloud cover overhead, but it thinned on both the east and west horizons, leaving the Cascades and the Olympics partly visible and nimbed in fading light. The lighting made the entire landscape look like an old black & white photograph that has been coloured manually, especially when we crossed the bridge over the ship canal.

This morning, another interesting piece of sky: perhaps the most distinct front I have ever seen, a thick mass of clouds covering three-quarters of the sky and ending in an abrupt straight line to the east-northeast as it collided with an air mass at a different pressure.
