Rally in a small town

So we did go to the “No on Prop 8” rally this morning, and it was indeed pouring rain. I was very grateful when the rain tapered off after maybe 45 minutes. But even more, I was grateful that there were so many more people waving and indicating support than the very few that showed disagreement. Naturally, a majority of drivers just drove past without showing interest, but we had a lot of people giving encouragements.

Similarly, we had people thanking us for having the “No” sign in our window last night during the trick-or-treating, and even complimenting us on having home-made buttons this morning on our way to the rally. The really cool thing, though, is that you can’t guess by their looks, age, dress style, or vehicle who is going to react how. We had plenty of people that based on those I might have guessed would not be friendly, but who were very enthusiastic. I love it when you really can’t judge the book by its cover. 🙂

Now we’ve just had a bit of lunch and I should do something productive, but I’m cold and tired and tempted to go have a nap!
