18. Favourite science fiction RPG
I love science fiction, but it’s a difficult genre, or collection of genres, for role-playing. For rules, my favourite is probably Shatterzone (West End Games), but the setting was lacklustre. On the other hand, I liked the settings for Aeon Trinity (White Wolf) and Fading Suns (Holistic Design/RedBrick/FASA) but their systems left me unenthusiastic, especially the latter. I have high hopes for Mindjammer (Modiphius) but I have not had a chance to play or run it yet.
Among licensed properties, I’ve greatly enjoyed Atomic Robo RPG (Evil Hat Productions) and Firefly RPG (Margaret Weis Productions). But my favourite is probably West End Games’ d6-based Star Wars RPG.
